Describe what the FANTASY GENRE is to you. What separates fantasy from other fiction, and what is your experience with it so far in life?
Is there a part of the fantasy genre that is unique to the genre? Something that no other genre would have?
On a character-level, what sorts of fantasy-specific things exist? Characters in fantasy are typically very relatable to readers, and yet they are often difficult to imagine in the reality around us every day. What is it about characters in the fantasy genre that make them different from other fiction and similar to others within fantasy?
Fantasy is a special genre because it focuses more on lore and myths and brings them to life. It is full of magic, make believe, and wild creatures. My only real experience is through my favorite book "Carry On" by Rainbow Rowell. Characters are often magical or unrealistic creatures.
Fantasy is different from other fictions because of how far it strays from the possibilities of our actual lives, often involving elements of magic. Usual the elements of magic and abnormal, unrealistic species are unique to the genre. The characters of the fantasy genre are often gifted or superior in ways that are above their readers, creating a sense of unfamiliarity.
when I think of fantasy I think of a different world than the real one. Fantasy generally involves mythical characters that otherwise wouldn't exist, or it includes death defying moments and/or stunts for example fighting. When it comes to fantasy its more based off of the medieval world with magic and a heroic character. ALSO Wyverns are DIFFERENT from Dragons, Dragons are four legged bigger and can communicate to other species, generally through the mind but sometimes vocally, Wyverns have feet on their wings and two hind legs and they are smaller than dragons and can only communicate to their own kin.
The fantasy genre to me is a place to let my imagination run wild even though the only experience i have with it is movies and games. The genre is different from other genre is because its only limitation is the imagination of the writer. Within fantasy there is magic and the abilities that come with it. The characters are so different because they can be anything.
The fantasy genre is very different from every other genre in many ways but my favorite way is the characters. The character are special to you because they can take everything you can imagine that would be cool about a person and create it no matter how unrealistic it is. You may be able to create amazing crazy characters, but they can also be relatable through there feelings and problems.
fantasy genre isn't really anything to me i don't get interested in any of it. fantasy is separated from other fiction by the the magical things that fantasy has with it. the characters in fantasy have more of a personality than normal fiction characters and thats what makes them more interesting and relatable
Fantasy differs from other types of fiction because it involves the imagination and your own creativity. I don't have much experience with the fantasy genre. Fantasy is a fake world created by an authors imagination. The characters are similar to humans in the sense that they have emotions but their physical characteristics can be different.
Fantasy to me means a story with monsters and magic. it includes things that can't happen in real life. I don't think any other genre would have monsters or things that can not happen in real life. fantasy has unrealistic characters.
Fantasy is so much different than other types of fiction because fantasy doesn't need to explain its oddities. There is simply no science or reasonable explanation for how certain things happen but they are worded in a way where you don't care. My fantasy character is Sauron because he can one shot an entire battalion, is extremely difficult to kill, especially with the One Ring, and has a wide array of powers and magic.
Fantasy is super cool to me because in the fantasy world anything can happen that is included in the world lore. The characters are different in the fantasy world because they are different species; some species traditional but others can be created by the writers. Characters can have the same feelings, experiences, etc. as us in the normal world; this makes fantasy that much better because we can relate to a cool elf or goblin.
The fantasy genre is almost like an exaggeration of the real world or like history. There's usually some kind magic or something similar to that. Some times it's in a weird world with it's own rules and protocol, social status and all that junk. Fantasy is a blanket term for a bunch of different genres and there's a lot of sub genres of fantasy. My experience with fantasy is reading a lot, watching films, and being in studies in the genre.
It's different from other fictions because it holds things that arent seen in an everyday life but we can still relate to their lives. Um the characters may have a special gift or curse, we relate because we may consider things that happen to us, our traits or physical features a gift or a curse. We see a characters journey and take it on as our own.
