Elantris is an exciting new place to live, just as living on the edge of the world always had been. The Washed City earned its name from its unique cityscape shaped out of ruins left under the ocean for five hundred years!

As their planet turns, the creatures of this world must continually move east to build cities as those in the west are swallowed by ocean tides. Their history records time in this way, and so we welcome you to the year 1399 when the first ever ancient city had been recovered nearly intact after being under the deep ocean for so long. It marks the first city since the discovery of the Magicks in 899.

Meladrin- an elf-like species known for their proficiency in magicks. They wear the colors of their king's house: white and pale blue. Many of the Meladrin have drifted from customs though in the past century and the scope of magic has become almost entirely dependent on where you are trained. Academies and masters across the world claim to have the world's most powerful mages.

Resveld- often called 'round ears' as they remove the top of the ears at birth to set them out, often stylizing them with jewelry as they grow up to indicate skill and prowess in combative arts. Not known for producing any spectacular mages, the Resveld are called to --in their opinion-- the higher calling of the blade. Reapers, the elite swordsman of the world, have always been Reveld, including their entire monarch lineage of queens whose house wears the beige and grey to represent the hilt and the steel of a sword.

After the Accords of August were signed in the year 900, it was agreed between the two great Kingdoms that whomever lived most westward would peacefully agree to occupy the easternmost areas of new land that emerged across the world.

Hints of unrest in the central kingdoms have foreshadowed the breaking of the accords finally as the first ancient city is unveiled and many who are not meant to migrate are flocking to its new shores. A clash of cultures and values rise tension in this new-old world and a never-before attempt is made to overturn an old world order.
