We are going to learn how to "emote" which is the term for a chunk of story you offer from your character perspective. A few things to keep in mind:
-Use correct grammar; edit posts while waiting on responses
-Never 'metamote' which means using internal thought or action that no other character could detect
-Never 'metagame' which is using information you only know OOC in the scene
-Never emote for another character's reactions or injury or anything. If you're interacting phrase it as an ATTEMPT
-The SM is law (Scene Master) and any scene master will be held accountable for breaking rules by the DM. DM is the final and first word on all things. Do not argue. There are many reasons DMs must make judgement calls that don't always need explained to every member. The choices made are to benefit the health of the class as a whole and to give everyone the best experience possible.
-Don't cross talk OOC. Yes, you might be sitting next to the others in your story but don't smash someone's immersion because you want to tell them they spelled your name wrong. When we are writing group stories, OOC talk should be limited to necessary things. If you have a question, it can most likely just be handled IC.
-Don't be rude or you will be fined skill points after a warning. After that, you will be written up.
So what's in an emote?
Emotes are typically 3-10 sentences long. Depending on the pacing, your partner or group may write at slower or quicker paces. Be patient but MORE IMPORTANTLY, please keep up and stay focused. This is not a class for other course work. If you significantly slow the story, it affects everyone's work. Don't be that guy.
