Weapons have been around for thousands of years. Anything from sharpened sticks to bow and arrows, weapons have been a big part of this worlds culture.
Core
When it comes to weapon enchantment you don’t enchant the weapon itself, but the core.
The different elements your weapons core can be are as follows:
Unicorn Hair- Unicorn hair core allows the weapon of choice to make the victim hallucinations. These hallucinations stem from the victims subconscious or dark past, making the effect very difficult to handle.

Horse Teeth- Horse teeth allow for the enchantment of earth. Depending how well the enchanter does, your weapon can have any element of earth as follows: Digging, planting trees that grow in 5 seconds (can be inside another individual), instant hole in the ground (can change how deep), or a sudden earth quake. With a core of enchanted horse teeth, your weapon can be very destructive, so this core may be hard to find.
Fish eyes- A fish eye core can allow your weapon some water aspects. Again, depending on how powerful this enchantment is, your weapon can provide you with sudden rain, if near water it allows a fatal wave to crash over victim, if victim is impaled you can make them fill up with a fatal amount of water, and last but not least, you can give your victim poison fish eyes compromising their vision and if not cured these eyes eventually lead to death. The fish eye effect lasts for about 12 hours before killing the victim.

Rat bones- This core allows your weapon to be very fatal. When making a weapon with a rat bone core, once activating your enchantment you cast sudden starvation on the victim weakening them. In the course of 4 hours your victim loses more and more weight as their body acts as it has been starving for years. Suddenly, your victim dies a slow, painful death of starvation leaving them to look as a pile of bones and skin.
Black coal- The black coal elemental core allows your weapon some fire aspects. You can light your victim on fire, shoot fire balls out of the sword, and once impaling them you can set a spell that melts them slowly from the inside out.
Cloud dust- Possessing a sword with a cloud dust core allows you to have air elements (in your weapon of course) This core allows you to use wind to completely shed your opponent to pieces in under 5 seconds, create a tornado to carry them away, or create a flurry of leaves, dust, etc to shield yourself and escape.
Moon oil- Having a moon oil core allows you to curse your opponent and become creative with it.
-Spider eyes (spiders crawl into their eyes an destroy their insides

-Moon landing (tricks their mind into thinking there is an earthquake and their head starts shaking rapidly until it pops off)
-Into the wind (there body begins to disintegrate starting at their fingers ending at their face)
Now, owning these elements on your sword come from great training. To train for these elements see someone who works with elemental magic to help you enchant the core and unlock these other worldly abilities.
How would one find the cores for enchantment?
How are the names related to the effect?
When using something else other then swords or daggers, how would enchantment work with something like a bow and arrow?
I like how there is variety in the enchantment and not only having three or four.
My character uses daggers so she might find this information useful in her life.
