Poisons have been a part of various cultures throughout Meladrin history. Poisonous plants have been used in spells for generations. Over the years, poisons have become more powerful as they are bred with other plants and are incorporated into more spells. Many have strayed from their original deathly properties and have inherited knew more practical uses.

In small amounts, poisons can be useful in countless potions and can even be used to enhance other magicks. Such as working them into elemental and enchanting spells. Poisons such as mandrake have been common in love potions and other common spells. Most Meladrin that specialize in poisons use them in ways alternative to killing.
Many of the common spells, in large amounts, are still very useful when intent on harming others. However, other potions have been made as cures for most poisons, leaving deaths from poisons uncommon.
Spells can be diluted by adding neutral herbs or other ingredients to a spell. This is common when brewing relaxants into teas, making them safe to include. Others may do this when wanting a short term solution or outcome.
